SKOC is an installation about traffic in Istanbul. It was prepared for Amber Festival 2010 – for the theme “datacity”. It is comprised of six CRT displays tiled on top of each other and uses live sensor data of municipality’s traffic map, along with Twitter streams. The concept is to create an observation space – a control panel – to monitor urban congestion, not only physical ones -ie traffic – but its possible effects towards urban life as well. The work shows multiple visualizations that can be read singularly or relatively. The project was developed in Processing environment and ran by three desktops. (You can find few images showing the installation).
